Makar Sankranti is the day when the Sun enters the Cancer (Makar) and this is the beginning of Uttarayan. The mother earth travels around the Sun. In the same manner, we travel on the earth. Common man travels in the Rickshaws and Rickshaw-wallas tirelessly serve the Common man in the Society. True, he may be earning his bread and butter. Can the common men forget the Rickshaw-wallas?  It seems that deep in his heart, he carries very low esteem, although he is no less than any other common man, who also earns with hard labour.  Hence, Anam Prem celebrates Makarsankrant with Rickshaw wallas. Anam Prem Parivar distributes home made til laddoos to the Rickshaw wallas with love and embrace them.  This programme is celebrated with Rickshawwallas in entire Mumbai, Pune, Amravati, Konkan, etc.  Due observance of Fundamental Duty envisaged in Article 51-A(e) of the Constitution of India i.e. to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or sectional diversities...” is reflected in this programme.  Besides this, Anam Premis at Kolhapur celebrates Makarsankrant i.e. til gul ceremony by inviting handicapped and mentally retarded people.
